Project TEN is in Town!

Project TEN is an international development program that operates volunteer centers in developing areas.

We bring together young Jewish adults from all over the world, to a program that combines volunteer work with local communities and service learning in the fields of international development, culture, identity and Jewish activism.

Adi is an anthropologist (M.A.) and a researcher, specialising in Africa and specifically in Ethiopia, development, tourism and faith-based organisations.

She has experience in the private sector - organising international conferences across the globe, as well as in the third sector - working with marginalised communities in Israel, i.e. Ethiopian Jews.

After completing her Master's thesis, which was based on her extensive field work in Ethiopia and volunteering in Project TEN Gonder, she was part of research groups in The Truman Institute for Peace in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and became a member of the Israeli Association for African Studies.

She also has experience in Humanitarian Aid and served as the Head of Mission from Natan International Humanitarian Aid on the Island of Lesvos, Greece. Together with Jewish and Arab youth movements, Hashomer Hatzair and Ajyal, Adi over-saw the establishment, logistical needs and operations of the International School of Peace for refugee children and co-managed a community centre for adult refugees mainly of Syrian origin.

After having worked in Greece for six months, she recently moved to South Africa to become the new director of Project TEN in Durban.

Adi is 35 years old, from Tel Aviv and loves to travel around the world, learn new languages, read and dance.
